One of the teams they are still looking up at in the standings is the California Bears who they will faceoff with on Thursday night.
It is going to be a tough road trip as they visit Cal and Stanford this weekend but this team has a solid 5-3 record in road contests this year.
One of the most shocking results from last week was Oregon’s 25 point drubbing of Washington.
I wish I could have seen the game to see whether the Huskies poor shooting was induced by good defense or Husky ineptitude but either way the Ducks were flying high offensively, shooting better than 50% from the floor as well as from the three point arc.
The Ducks aren’t loaded with talent but they force you to play well to beat them.

California
The Cal Bears are at the top of the PAC 12 standings right now, tied with Washington with a 10-3 record. With the Oregon Ducks only a game back of those squads this one has a lot more juice than anyone could have predicted at the beginning of the year.
Most would have given Cal a great chance to be near the top but the Ducks are a surprise.
This is a chance for the Bears to put them back in their place with just a few regular season games left on the schedule.
The Bears are definitely reliant on their backcourt, where they get a little bit of everything from the combination of Allen Crabbe, Justin Cobbs and Jorge Gutierrez.
Crabbe is a smooth shooter who paces the team in scoring; Cobbs is a transfer point guard who directs the attack; and Gutierrez is one of the best hustle players in all of college basketball.
When this team gets complimentary production upfront they are hard to beat.
In fact, they are just 13 points from an undefeated league season this year.
